Blogging has been around for a few years now. Most people use blogs to record their thoughts and lives, while a select few use them as a free way to make a fortune.

One guy who uses this to his advantage is Rob Benwell. In 2006 he dished the dirt on the tips and tricks to making a fortune using blogging. But as time passes the old systems become obsolete and new techniques are required. This is where his brand new, fresh off the press Blogging to the Bank 2010 system comes into play.

For those who know who Rob Benwell is like me, you’ve probably made a killing using blogs.

For those who don’t, he’s the story:

Back in 2005 he was struggling to make any profit online, had dropped out of college and was getting deep into debt. He was trying all the techniques the gurus tell you and wasn’t getting anywhere fast. All of that went in the bin and he started using his own techniques and started making more and more money using simple blogs. In early 2006 he shared this with the world and had a great ebook called blogging to the bank. Tons of people got rich from using these techniques (including me). He then spoke at Online Marketing Legend Yanik Silver’s underground Seminar where he revealed even more of his underground strategies. Then July 2007 he released Blogging to the Bank 2.0 which showed users his new methods to creating online wealth using blogs. In total both versions have been read by over 50,000 people across the world.

But as I said earlier, the techniques used in these ebooks are now showing there age. Some of them are not even working in the slightest! This is where blogging to the bank 2010 comes into play.

It’s full of great new techniques that work online right now! Everything’s explained in plain English with all the fluff cut out. I got hold of an advanced copy of the book for a much higher price than what it actually sells for and it has been worth every single cent! I got it in the afternoon and by the evening I was creating new profitable blogs. Within a couple of hours of them being active I had made a nice little profit.

Blogging To The Bank 2010 teaches you Robs new step by step blueprint to creating highly profitable long term niche blogs using the newest optimization techniques. There’s even a section on advanced Search Engine Optimization. Most people think SEO is difficult but Rob explains this nice and simply so even the blogging newbie will understand it.

Blogging To The Bank 2010 is a breath of fresh air and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make easy money online.

Web design today is content-driven and most business websites strive to have content that attracts readers while still maintaining recognition by search engines. People use the internet for a variety of reasons and included in these is the desire to buy a product or service. By the same token, they are quickly turned off to a website where the web content does not give them the product information they need. Here are some tips for you the web designer for writing, purchasing, or editing web content that not only fits your web design but also integrates with the marketing plan of your web design client’s business.

Web content should first be written to solve a problem. People choose to buy a product because they believe it will give them a solution to their problem. For example, people visit health and nutrition websites because they want to get in shape but don’t know where to start. They may not be looking for a particular vitamin or health supplement per se but wanting to know what is the first step to improving their fitness. Your web content should consist of helpful articles relating to fitness and health improvement that will be of interest to them. Remember that the focus is on the visitors and not your web design client.

Before writing your content, determine what likely keywords and key phrases a person would use to find a website. One way to do this is by using Google Adwords to get statistics of search terms entered by users that are related to a search term you want to use. Another similar tool is the Free Keyword Tool from Wordtracker. The idea is to use key phrases or keywords in your web content that reflect commonly-used keywords in the major search engines like Google. By using these key phrases and keywords, the search engine crawlers can properly read the website and classify it accordingly in their index. Don’t saturate an article with keywords and key phrases because it will affect the flow of words making the article difficult to read. Many recommend no more that 1 to 2 percent keyword density.

Web content should be written so the reader can skim. Few people have the time to read everything on a web page in detail. Within a few seconds of looking at a website, the visitor should be able to figure out what it is about and if it provides a solution to his or her problem. One way this is accomplished is by keeping paragraph lengths short or using lists. Paragraphs should stay on the ideas of their topic sentences. The topic sentence is usually the first sentence of a paragraph and the remaining sentences develop the first. Some recommend only two or three sentences per paragraph but four or five are acceptable as long as the paragraph topic is fully explained. A good rule of thumb to follow is if the paragraph looks too long, try to see if it can be split up into two topics.

Blogging has become a popular way to express one’s presence online.  The younger generation as young as twelve (12) years old already have their own blogs.  They blog about their daily activities, schools programs, projects and just about anything that comes to their mind.  It has become an online diary.

Many people have found blogging, not only a good way to publish their written creations online but it also has become a good avenue to tell the world about their businesses, their services and the products they are endorsing.  It also has given an opportunity for some to earn extra income online.  The existence of social networking sites has also made blogging possible most especially with their free blog service.

The topic about earning money online through blogging may have caught your attention.  You may ask. How do they do it? How is it possible? How can we make money online? There are many ways to do this and the main requirement for most of these opportunities is for you to have a blog first.  Once you have set-up your blog, posted contents to it possibly daily, your job doesn’t stop there.  A blog won’t reach the target earnings the owner has set for himself if there is no traffic.

So, how can we drive traffic to our sites? Again, there are many ways to do it.  Driving traffic to a created blog is one of the most important tasks of every blogger and webmaster. Traffic is very essential in the blogging world in order to really earn money.  The more traffic you have, the more people will know about your products, services and your work in general.  These people usually get interested with the author of the blog.  If you have a well-researched and well-created blog with great content, they would keep on coming back.

There are many ways to earn money  from a blog. It can be through the most popular google adsense, through affiliate marketing, text link ads and paid blogging to name a few.  Before this could generate sales, you will need a great amount of traffic. How can we drive more and more visitors to our sites? A very popular process is search-engine optimization.

What is Search Engine Optimization?  It is a process on how your blog would appear higher most importantly, on the first page of search engines.  Many people know that if a blog is on the first page, this is great for your blog as normally, people usually visit the sites on the first page first.  The question is, how can we put our blog on the first few pages?   The process is not easy at first but once you have mastered search engine optimization, you will soon see the results.

With search engine optimization, you need to write articles with the right and highly searched keyword. Obvious example of these are current events, coming popular movies, controversial personalities and many more. There are some niches also which are highly searched in search engines like travel, jobs, twitter and health, to name a few.

Pagerank is also important to a blog.  Though not all online companies, businesses and people give high regards to it, majority consider it a very important achievement of a blog.  If you will participate in paid blogging, having a high PR is very important as most advertisers prefer to advertise in blogs with higher PR. The higher PR you have though, means that you have higher quality posts, the right keywords and more traffic.  Take note also that if you participate in paid blogging, google penalizes these blogs.  Google adsense which is a big product of Google, doesn’t really go along well with paid blogging, PRs usually drop steps 1 or 2 lower in the next pagerank update.

A blog’s success is a combination of many factors, Proper search engine optimization is one of these.  Good quality backlinks do count also and the number of quality backlinks to your blog, Once a blog is successful, it means more traffic, higher PR and more revenue.

How to Overcome Writer’s Block

Posted by: Riley | Comments (0)

A common problem for writers and bloggers is when they experience writer’s block.  These people usually make a lot of articles in a day and this process most of the time drains the mind.  Our mind becomes too tired for producing articles and creating ideas that usually results to not being able to formulate a new one and produce a new content.  This is temporary though and once our mind gets its much needed rest, new ideas usually start coming in.

If ever you will encounter this condition, there are many ways on how to solve this problem.  One way is to free your mind first of everything. Relax and meditate. Rest for a few minutes and if still it won’t come back, try to get some sleep. Below are some suggestions that will help you refresh your mind and fill it with new ideas.

1. Get Some Rest. Our mind gets tired too. Once it gets exhausted, it loses its focus. Give yourself a break. Our mind has so much work when we are awake.  From the time we wake up in the morning until we lay in bed at night.  It is pre-occupied also with other things like meeting deadlines at work, client meet-ups for sales people, and so on.

2. Relate to Real Life Situations.  One way to get a successful and informative post is by producing content which are based on day-to-day experiences. What did you eat for breakfast today?  Have you eaten a healthy diet? What are the health benefits of those you have eaten?  Does your father really have to buy that toy your youngest brother have been bugging him about?  These and more topics can be formulated even at the early part of your day.

3. Watch a movie.  Watching a movie is a great way to relax and make you feel comfortable. Again, ideas?  How about making a list and a review of the actor’s movies for the past 5 years? What movie has brought him to fame? Or, how about reviewing the movie itself?

4. Learn from the Experts.  Read posts and other advices from the experts.  These people are those who are already earning big bucks monthly.  What did they do in order to reach their target monthly income?  Was it a difficult road? What techniques and tips can they share with us?

5. Review your old articles. For some people, they love reading their old articles back.  Reviewing what we have written few months or even years ago will bring back memories and usually new ideas. Sometimes, you also realize that when you wrote that article, you weren’t able to point out completely the points you wanted to address.  This is one way of overcoming that writer’s block, adding inputs to the old article.  Formulate another that will complete what you have started.

6. Visit Article Directories.  Article directories have rich sources of information.  Reading other articles would give us new ideas to develop new content.  Some writers don’t cover all topics or information about a product or an illness and other things.  We can discuss these missing ideas in another article.

7. Visit Yahoo Answers, Wiki Answers and Mahalo Answers.  These sites have a listing of what people are looking for online.  It is easeir for most people to start writing a post if they have guide questions.  Intelligent questions usually give back brilliant and useful information.

8. Make a list of things. You can also make a list of different things – your favorite food, your wish list, popular movies in 2008, the most beautiful diving destinations of the world and many more.

Writer’s block is common.  However, it is easier to remedy.  A writer just need to redirect their focus on other topics that would generate response from their minds.  The above list contains some of the ways on how we could overcome writer’s block.  There are still a lot more. How about making that your next post?

Web Design University

Web Design University

I found a wonderful new web design course operated by the good people from iThemes. They have a ton of information they present on a variety of design topics and also have some very good information on actually running your business too. I found the videos on how to use Firefox add-ons very helpful and easy to understand. Best part is many of these tools are free and can be quickly obtained. They are giving a ton of advice on using WordPress to not only build a Blog, but as a Company or personal website. This was one area of great interest to me and I found many shortcuts and excellent advice in setting up WordPress to work well with SEO.

One topic that went into excellent detail was Branding. I know that many users can benefit from this and how important it can be to the success of your Blog or Business.

The site is easy to use and the recordings and videos are professionally produced. I joined with the yearly membership option and know I already have received training that is more valuable than the price of the membership and I’m only in the second month.

More information on Web Design University can be found Here.

Super Green Web Hosting – Beware!

Posted by: admin | Comments (4)

I just received this note from one of our readers.  “After seeing the link on your website, I decided to sign up with Super Green Web Hosting. I found their rates good and decided to go for the three year term and paid upfront via PayPal. Their site advertises “Instant Activation” which could not be further from the truth.  After waiting 14 hours, I contacted their online chat and was informed that my account would be live in a couple of hours. Not true. I waited an additional 8 hours with no welcome e-mail then contacted the online support.  After waiting a few minutes a rep came online and asked the domain I signed up with.  This was the same question the earlier rep had asked and it was in the form when you start the chat.  After checking for a few minutes he came back and wanted to know If  I had received a phone call or e-mail for account verification. I told him I had received two e-mails and I had replied to them right away.  He informed me my account was on hold and he needed all of my information and he would forward it to the billing department.  I became very uncomfortable with this style of business and told the rep this.  He then asked the same question about the additional information with I felt was not reasonable sending over a non-sure chat service.

I then asked to cancel the registration and refund my PayPal account as I was going to another host. He never replied and I have been forced to open a PayPal dispute. It is now 48 hours later and Super Green Hosting has not replied to my PayPal dispute and they still have my money.  I have researched a bit more and found that they have a Sister Company Justhost.com  I will not give this Company or any Company associated with Super Green Web Hosting my business in the future.

I just wanted to warn your readers of the terrible service I received from this outfit.”

All about mobile blogging

Posted by: Riley | Comments (0)

A blog used to be mostly a sort of an online diary in which you could write about anything that you felt about. The best thing about it is that people who are reading your posts can actually comment on it, discuss it or even add any suggestions to it. Thus, it is a great way to interact, something like a forum, with the only difference that you are the sole controller of your blog.

Blogging has come quite far now these days. Blogs have graduated from being online diaries to a medium to express yourself, share your beliefs and even to do business. In fact, people have found this medium to be a great way to interact with their prospects and that too, without spending a dime.

Now, the most common way to update your blog would be through your laptop or computer. However, one more way that is fast catching up is mobile blogging or in other words, moblogging.

People lead fast lives and this is a very convenient method to keep an eye on your blog as you go about your other work. While your moblog will not be too different from any traditional blog, it will provide you the ease of blogging while moving.

Mobile phones are no longer unaffordable. They are just as easy to purchase as they are to use and it is simple enough to blog with them. You can do all kinds of things such as sharing stories, experiences, pictures or even videos with your mobile blog.

In order to have your mobile blog, you will need to choose a network that provides surfing the web online. You should get a mobile handset that can support these features as well.

The best thing about moblogging is that you do not have to wait to have access to a computer nor do you have to carry your laptop with you everywhere. If you find something interesting to share then you can do it immediately. This ease and pace makes mobile blogging so interesting and attractive.

If you already have an online blog then you can make it mobile by simply registering the number of your mobile handset and this will activate your mobile blogging service. Now, you are ready to do posts from just about anywhere and at any time using your phone.

You can communicate, interact and update the blog regularly without the need of being in front of a computer. This is the ease that moblogging provides.

New Script for Blogs

Posted by: Riley | Comments (1)

If you’re a blogger like me, you’ll know that one of the biggest challenges we face is getting repeat traffic.

A great way to do that of course is by building a mailing list of opt-in subscribers.

The problem is how to capture your visitor’s details without alienating them with a huge great hover popin.

Well now I think I’ve found a solution…

I’ve recently come across a cool little script called Ultimate Footer Ad that slides a small strip up from the bottom of your browser.

You can use it to capture email subscribers, as well as convert visitors to rss subscribers or twitter followers.

It does it all…

What it doesn’t do is annoy your visitors by stopping them from reading your valuable content.

The feedback on this software has been amazing:

John Chow describes it as…

– One of the best promotional tools I have ever used.

And Legendary marketer Terry Dean had this to say…

– I’ve added 126 extra new subscribers to my list just in the past week.

Not only that, it’s dead simple to use. You can literally have this thing installed and running on your website in 10 minutes.

So if you’re looking for a way to increase traffic and revenues with your blog, grab your copy of Ultimate Footer Ad before this really catches on…

P.S. Top UK marketer Frank Haywood used this tool to increase his average daily blog subscription by 249.84%. So the longer you wait, the more subscribers you’re missing out on. Check out it out!

Blogging Vs a Daytime Job

Posted by: Riley | Comments (0)

You build your résumé, you go for several interviews, you get a call back and congratulations, you have just gotten the job that you’ve been hoping you’d get. It’s now your first day. You grab that new suit and tie and sit in the worst rush hour traffic that you’ve ever been a part of. You finally get to the office and get to see your new cubicle. Just like all the others in the office and it looks like you have become yet another rat in the trap of life. It doesn’t take long to have your desk completely covered with paperwork of reports and documents that need to be processed yesterday. You think back and remember the day when you first started at your job. You remember how happy and excited you were thinking that this was the “new” you, and that you were really going to move up in the world. But what actually happened is you have fallen into a rut. This rut can keep you from using your whole potential and becoming what you wanted to become.

You have wanted to work for yourself for a long time. But how can you make that happen? There are many ways of making things happen. As long as you have the willpower and the attitude to move forward in your life and make a change happen, you can make anything happen in your life. So how do you go from the daily grind 9-5 to waking up at a leisurely hour and working in your p.j.’s if you want? Having an office at home does take some discipline. Separating your work life from your home life does take an adjustment period when you first start doing it. You may even want to keep your daytime hours like you had when you were in an office until you can grasp a really good ideal schedule between work and home. Because your work and home will be within the same space, taking the time to create your own “office” will be a necessity.

Creating your office space is something that can be difficult. On your days off you will want to stay out of that area if possible to keep that distance between work and home. On the days you are working, it is easy to become distracted. Either by kids, the phone, friends or your favorite daytime television show. It is best to set your recorder to record your favorite shows, shut the ringer off on your phone and allow your answering machine to pick up your calls and if possible, see if you can still have your children in a daycare setting. That way you can have as little distractions as possible.

By using these tips above you will see that moving from a work place environment to a home environment can be a fairly easy transition, as long as you have all of the positive environment changes in place!
