2 Things You Should Know About Your PC Recording Studio
Posted by: | CommentsWhat? You say you don’t have a PC recording studio? Let me ask you this. Do you have a computer? Was it made in the last 10 years? Does it have a sound card? If you answered “yes” to all 3 questions, you have a PC recording studio. Maybe you just didn’t know it.
So now that you DO know, you can create awesome audio for, well, for whatever. Record your songs and release an album. Send out a podcast. Narrate an audio book. Do voiceover recording for any videos you might be making, or to start a voiceover business of your own. There are so many possibilities.
Now before anyone raises their hand to protest that you can’t record really good audio using just a home computer unless you also spend a gazillion dollars on an audio interface, microphones, and special software, let me just say something first. You CAN record really good audio using just a home computer without having to spend a gazillion dollars on an audio interface, microphones, and special software. In fact, getting back to the title of this article, there are two important things about home recording you should know. First, good audio is more about knowledge than money, knowledge anyone can learn quite easily given the right lessons. Second, most people can create excellent sounding audio without spending more than about 30 dollars (for a USB mic if you don’t already have one)
The Basics of Home Recording are Easy to Learn
Most home recording needs will center around voiceover recording for any of a number of reasons, such as podcasts, audio for video, audio books, etc. You will probably have noticed that a lot of amateur narrated audio such as you find in videos on YouTube is really quite bad. It’s thin, echo-y, noisy, hard-to-understand, or any combination of the above. But that isn’t because the people recording this audio just have cheap gear. They could make much better audio with just a little knowledge, mainly about how to avoid and/or reduce noise, where to put the mic, etc.
You Can Create Good Audio With Your Current Computer and Free Recording Software
There are some good audio recording programs available free of charge on the web. Probably the best known is called Audacity. When I say “free,” I mean open source, not just a trial version. Audacity is amazingly powerful for the price ($0.00). I recommend you download it before someone figures out how good a deal it really is. Audacity is both a multi-track recording and sound editing software. It comes with lots of built-in effects like EQ, compression, reverb, and great editing capability. For many folks, especially the ones just recording vocal narration, this is the only home recording software they’ll ever need.
So now you know where to get the hardware, but you are wondering where you can gain the knowledge I said was so easy to understand. There are many tutorials on the web, but Home Brew Audio is dedicated to teaching home recording skills so that anyone can understand them, using enjoyable and humorous video tutorial videos. Why not give us a visit if you have a few moments? I bet you’ll be glad you did.
FBtrafficblueprint.com Review
Posted by: | CommentsJust downloaded this new eBook FB Traffic Blueprint and video series. Impressive course that deals with creating FaceBook Fan pages and Group pages. It details the differences between these and the positives and negatives for each version. It also speaks to creating a FaceBook ad and how easy it is to target to your chosen audience. It also explains the difference between FaceBook ads and Google Adsense.
I really enjoyed the video series which are professionally produced and not too long which made it easier for me to hold my attention. There was a ton of good information on the videos and if followed should make for a good increase in business with not a lot of setup time or cost.
Take a look at this course – FBTrafficBlueprint

Review: Instant Video Articles
Posted by: | CommentsJust received word on a new product called Instant Video Articles. After watching the 7+ minute sales video, I was impressed with the product so I thought I would purchase it and try it out. After playing with it for a few minutes, I was able to produce a few fun videos in a variety of formats. It will export videos in five different formats – .mov, .mp4, .flv, .avi and .swf formats.
This is a very simple to use product that comes with 50 mp3 sound files that can be used for background music or you can add a voiceover. It is on a limited-time sale for the bargain price of $17.00. I know, what a low price for a product that can make you a decent return on your time producing videos. Could be a huge boost for promoting an affiliate product too.
Just a quick word of warning – This is not a full-blown software for producing Hollywood videos and the low price definitely reflects it.
For the introductory low price, Instant Video Articles very well could fit in your web toolkit.
Review: Blogging to the Bank 2010 – The Truth!
Posted by: | CommentsBlogging has been around for a few years now. Most people use blogs to record their thoughts and lives, while a select few use them as a free way to make a fortune.
One guy who uses this to his advantage is Rob Benwell. In 2006 he dished the dirt on the tips and tricks to making a fortune using blogging. But as time passes the old systems become obsolete and new techniques are required. This is where his brand new, fresh off the press Blogging to the Bank 2010 system comes into play.
For those who know who Rob Benwell is like me, you’ve probably made a killing using blogs.
For those who don’t, he’s the story:
Back in 2005 he was struggling to make any profit online, had dropped out of college and was getting deep into debt. He was trying all the techniques the gurus tell you and wasn’t getting anywhere fast. All of that went in the bin and he started using his own techniques and started making more and more money using simple blogs. In early 2006 he shared this with the world and had a great ebook called blogging to the bank. Tons of people got rich from using these techniques (including me). He then spoke at Online Marketing Legend Yanik Silver’s underground Seminar where he revealed even more of his underground strategies. Then July 2007 he released Blogging to the Bank 2.0 which showed users his new methods to creating online wealth using blogs. In total both versions have been read by over 50,000 people across the world.
But as I said earlier, the techniques used in these ebooks are now showing there age. Some of them are not even working in the slightest! This is where blogging to the bank 2010 comes into play.
It’s full of great new techniques that work online right now! Everything’s explained in plain English with all the fluff cut out. I got hold of an advanced copy of the book for a much higher price than what it actually sells for and it has been worth every single cent! I got it in the afternoon and by the evening I was creating new profitable blogs. Within a couple of hours of them being active I had made a nice little profit.
Blogging To The Bank 2010 teaches you Robs new step by step blueprint to creating highly profitable long term niche blogs using the newest optimization techniques. There’s even a section on advanced Search Engine Optimization. Most people think SEO is difficult but Rob explains this nice and simply so even the blogging newbie will understand it.
Blogging To The Bank 2010 is a breath of fresh air and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make easy money online.
Writing Web Content that Fits a Site’s Purpose
Posted by: | CommentsWeb design today is content-driven and most business websites strive to have content that attracts readers while still maintaining recognition by search engines. People use the internet for a variety of reasons and included in these is the desire to buy a product or service. By the same token, they are quickly turned off to a website where the web content does not give them the product information they need. Here are some tips for you the web designer for writing, purchasing, or editing web content that not only fits your web design but also integrates with the marketing plan of your web design client’s business.
Web content should first be written to solve a problem. People choose to buy a product because they believe it will give them a solution to their problem. For example, people visit health and nutrition websites because they want to get in shape but don’t know where to start. They may not be looking for a particular vitamin or health supplement per se but wanting to know what is the first step to improving their fitness. Your web content should consist of helpful articles relating to fitness and health improvement that will be of interest to them. Remember that the focus is on the visitors and not your web design client.
Before writing your content, determine what likely keywords and key phrases a person would use to find a website. One way to do this is by using Google Adwords to get statistics of search terms entered by users that are related to a search term you want to use. Another similar tool is the Free Keyword Tool from Wordtracker. The idea is to use key phrases or keywords in your web content that reflect commonly-used keywords in the major search engines like Google. By using these key phrases and keywords, the search engine crawlers can properly read the website and classify it accordingly in their index. Don’t saturate an article with keywords and key phrases because it will affect the flow of words making the article difficult to read. Many recommend no more that 1 to 2 percent keyword density.
Web content should be written so the reader can skim. Few people have the time to read everything on a web page in detail. Within a few seconds of looking at a website, the visitor should be able to figure out what it is about and if it provides a solution to his or her problem. One way this is accomplished is by keeping paragraph lengths short or using lists. Paragraphs should stay on the ideas of their topic sentences. The topic sentence is usually the first sentence of a paragraph and the remaining sentences develop the first. Some recommend only two or three sentences per paragraph but four or five are acceptable as long as the paragraph topic is fully explained. A good rule of thumb to follow is if the paragraph looks too long, try to see if it can be split up into two topics.
Web Design University
Posted by: | CommentsI found a wonderful new web design course operated by the good people from iThemes. They have a ton of information they present on a variety of design topics and also have some very good information on actually running your business too. I found the videos on how to use Firefox add-ons very helpful and easy to understand. Best part is many of these tools are free and can be quickly obtained. They are giving a ton of advice on using WordPress to not only build a Blog, but as a Company or personal website. This was one area of great interest to me and I found many shortcuts and excellent advice in setting up WordPress to work well with SEO.
One topic that went into excellent detail was Branding. I know that many users can benefit from this and how important it can be to the success of your Blog or Business.
The site is easy to use and the recordings and videos are professionally produced. I joined with the yearly membership option and know I already have received training that is more valuable than the price of the membership and I’m only in the second month.

Two Easy Steps to Effective SEO Marketing
Posted by: | CommentsIn order for your business to succeed you need to create as much awareness as possible. Traditionally this was called “market penetration,” and it has more recently been also named “web visibility.” No matter what you call it, it still means the same thing: that you need to let consumers know about the benefits of using your business. The more satisfied customers you have, the more successful you become.
Search Engine Optimization has been a key component to most internet marketing strategies over the past several years. Although it is a very simple concept, there are many particular peculiarities that you need to understand in order to launch an effective strategy. While submitting your page information to the myriad search engine companies allows your page to be indexed and accessed during a search inquiry, that doesn’t necessarily mean that your site will be easy to find.
First of all, you want to make sure that the page contents of your site are fresh and high in quality. Many people just reproduce the same stuff they find on other sites, regardless of its quality. This does not improve your site rating, and it will actually decrease user motivation to return to your site. People want to read interesting content that is also insightful and entertaining. Relevant pictures, music, and video help too.
You will also want to make sure that you use high-yield keywords. All SEOs operate on keyword density, meaning that an inquiry always relies heavily on exact word matches. This is why you need to write a decent sized article that contains a small percentage of keywords that will appeal to the search engine web crawlers. Having a unique and relevant title also helps.
Super Green Web Hosting – Beware!
Posted by: | CommentsI just received this note from one of our readers. “After seeing the link on your website, I decided to sign up with Super Green Web Hosting. I found their rates good and decided to go for the three year term and paid upfront via PayPal. Their site advertises “Instant Activation” which could not be further from the truth. After waiting 14 hours, I contacted their online chat and was informed that my account would be live in a couple of hours. Not true. I waited an additional 8 hours with no welcome e-mail then contacted the online support. After waiting a few minutes a rep came online and asked the domain I signed up with. This was the same question the earlier rep had asked and it was in the form when you start the chat. After checking for a few minutes he came back and wanted to know If I had received a phone call or e-mail for account verification. I told him I had received two e-mails and I had replied to them right away. He informed me my account was on hold and he needed all of my information and he would forward it to the billing department. I became very uncomfortable with this style of business and told the rep this. He then asked the same question about the additional information with I felt was not reasonable sending over a non-sure chat service.
I then asked to cancel the registration and refund my PayPal account as I was going to another host. He never replied and I have been forced to open a PayPal dispute. It is now 48 hours later and Super Green Hosting has not replied to my PayPal dispute and they still have my money. I have researched a bit more and found that they have a Sister Company Justhost.com I will not give this Company or any Company associated with Super Green Web Hosting my business in the future.
I just wanted to warn your readers of the terrible service I received from this outfit.”
